Dr. Thurmond Lanier DPM, MPH, FACFAS

Thurmond Lanier, DPM, MPH, FACFAS is the founder and medical director of SmartStep Foot and Ankle. As a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon, Dr. Lanier specializes in reconstructive and minimally invasive surgery of the foot and ankle with years of experience helping patients regain mobility ad live pain-free.

Dr. Lanier obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of South Carolina and his podiatric medical degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine graduating summa cum laude and class salutatorian. Dr. Lanier also holds a Master’s in Teaching from the University of South Carolina as well as a Master of Public Health from the City University of New York.

Dr. Lanier resides in Charlotte, NC with his wife and four children. He is an avid Carolina Panthers and South Carolina Gamecocks fan and loves traveling and going to sporting events.
